Description

Grouping to Ludwig Stilp junior. Born in 1925 and killed in action in Finland as a Gebirgsjäger on 12.7.1944 with 7 Gebirgs-Division (Gebirgs-Veterinär-Kompanie 99).

The grouping was purchased by his brother in law who married Stilp's sister. His brother in law was a born in 1926 and served as a Flakhelper in Nürnberg. In 1944, he was sent as a Grenadier to Remagen! He became a POW and served as a interpretor in the camp since he spoke English as he told our consignor. Stilp's sister was alive when the grouping was purchased as well. He told our consignor, that Ludwig Stilp was not happy being a soldier at all.

The grouping comes in a manmade table case which was given to Stilp's sister as a present by inmates of Concentration Camp Flossenbürg. It was very close to where they lived. Her parents gave bread to the inmates which was the reason for this present.

Death card of Gebirgsjäger Ludwig Stilp.
