A very interesting (named to the reverse) portrait photo of a Waffen-SS assault gunner awarded the War Merit Cross 2nd Class.
He wears a standard visor cap which he tried to convert into a so-called "crusher cap" by removing the chin strap. You can however clearly see the visor is from fiber. He already shows a crack/bend. Interestingly, he wears a political cap eagle instead an SS pattern eagle.
