This album documents his time as MG squad leader serving in Africa with Fla.Btl. 606 commanded by Knight's Cross recipient Oberstleutnant Briel. The first picture shows Briel as well as Rommel and Crüwell and his commander Hauptmann Max Koch who was killed in action on 21.1.1943 near Tripolis.
This album is a fantastic document of his service time in Africa. It was and explains his comrades and commanders as well as his troops, the equipment, guns, tents they used, etc... There are information on the daily life, the fighting, the enemy guns and tanks, and a lot more.
