Description

This cap was worn by a Wehrmacht Jäger and comes with 100% originally attached insignia. It came straight of the grandson and was never available on the market before. The name of the soldier will be provided to the buyer.

The cap is a German police mountain cap (Bergmütze) generally. Typically short visor. Two buttons. Rivets. Light-green piping. Sweat-band.

It was, however period time converted to a Heer mountain cap by adding a machine-woven sidecap eagle and a matching cockade. The insignia were 100% period time attached by hand. Quite sloppy and maybe by the soldier himself.

A hard to read maker's mark "Bayerische Berufsbekleidungs- und Militärfabrik" (?) to fine linen lining. Size "58" stamped.
Sweat-band with many crack and some bits missing but still very soft. The rest of the cap is absolutely fine. There is no moth damage.

Unfortunately, there is no photo-proof of the soldier wearing this cap. This would make it even more interesting!
