Description

Nickel-plated steel blade showing the etched motto "Meine Ehre heißt Treue". RZM "1196/38 SS" maker marked (Edward Wüsthof Dreizackwerk). Slight stains on both sides.

Black wooden handle with inlaid SS roundel and eagle. It has no chipping. Nickel fittings. Original black anodized steel scabbard with nickel fittings. All six screws are in position. Slight dents and a small crack in the bottom fitting. Comes with the original dagger chain. Made of iron. The chain links bear SS runes and skulls. Stamped "SS" on the reverse. The spring inside the "Germanic knot" is damaged.

Signs of use and age. One of the earliest RZM type of daggers. Usually, chained daggers had unmarked blades. This is rare a transitional type!
