"Bund heimattreuer Schlesier" flag of the local group of Cassel - 128x88.5

Description

An excellent hand-embroidered local group flag of the "Bund heimattreuer Schlesier" (Association of Silesians).

One side shows the Silesian eagle and the inscription in gold bullion wire "Bund heimattreuer Schlesier - Ortsgruppe CASSEL". Two patches show the dates "O.S. 1920" and "Sch. 1890". On the other side, there are eight coats of arms of Silesian communities and the inscription in gold bullion wire "In fremder Hand - In deutschem Herzen". The flag is beautifully decorated with oak leaves, gold fringe, and tassels. Bordered with a gold braid on both sides.

Size flag: 128x88.5 cm

Comes with the original crossbar and flag pole (two-piece construction). Made of wood with metal fittings. Maker marked on the top. There are also five engraved plaques on the top flag pole. Dated "1926" and "1930".

Length pole: 295 cm.

The flag has about 24 holes. Signs of use and some stains.
