VIEW DESCRIPTION

A very early Heer visor cap for an officer of Infanterie-Regiment 17 based in Braunschweig. It comes with a Braunschweig skull attached between the eagle and wreath badge.

Branch: Infantry. White color piping
Insignia: Early tombak cap eagle, wreath badge and skull. All insignia show the same sort of patina.
Chin strap: textbook EM/NCO strap. Correct buttons period time attached.

Lining: Silk
Celluloid diamond: damaged

Maker's mark: Maker's logo and "Sonderklasse" marked
Sweat-band: Signs of wear. Stains. Period time attached name tag "Heinrich Plüger" serving with "..... 17.Inf.-Regt."

Early "resedagrün" cap band! Around 1934/35.
Some moth damage. A rare untouched cap!
