Saxony - Carola Medal in Bronze

Description

This bronze Carola Medal comes with the original case of issue and a piece of original ribbon. M.B. on bust for Max Barduleck.

Max Barduleck was born on November 15, 1846, the only son of the Dresden gold and silver engraver Friedrich Wilhelm Barduleck. From 1860 to 1865 he attended the Dresden Academy of Art while simultaneously training as an engraver with his father. Max Barduleck remained unmarried and died in 1923 as a pensioner in Dresden.

Seems like this set was issued but never worn. The 1st Coinage of this medal with the full inscription on the reverse was only coined 1052 times.

One of the more rare medals the kingdom of Saxony produced and in great condition.
