Description

A Heer M40 field tunic for a Hauptmann serving with Gebirgsjäger-Regiment 136. Including his personal ID tag. The second pattern tunic which was issued to the Heer was designed with a grey green color and five buttons.

This Hauptmann preferred the more elegant M36 style featuring a dark green collar and dark green insignia. A dark green cloth was period time added above the grey M40 color. All modifications were executed period time and definitely prior to 1945.
Modifications like these are quite common and give this tunic a unique touch.

Breast eagle: hand-embroidered officer's eagle attached by hand.
Collar tabs: Green color. attached by hand.
Shoulder boards: Hauptmann boards to slip-on. Gilt 136 ciphers.

Lining. Cotton
Stamps: size stamps and maker marked. The depot marking is hard to read.
Buttons: Complete. Some re-attached.

A few moth bites but no holes. Very nice condition 2.

Including a long ribbon bar for an Austrian WW1 veteran.
