Description

Untouched side cap for cavalry officers with "golden yellow" soutache chevron and all-around silver woven officer piping.

Machine-woven cap eagle sewn by hand, and hand-embroidered cockade also sewn by hand.

The soutache chevron left damaged and the fabric opened.
Originally sewn by hand.

The inner lining made of black cotton is in almost unworn condition.
White ink size stamp "54 1/2".
Sweatband made of brown leather in undamaged condition with signs of wear.

Brass grommets with full color on the outside.

Sadly, the side cap is covered in larger mouse bites and moth bites.
Lightly worn piece, with damage due to poor storage.
