Very rare impressive photo album to a member of Grenz-Polizei-Schule Pretzsch an der Elbe.
Grenz-Polizei-Schule Pretzsch was part of the Sicherheitsdienst. Members therefore had worn a grey military uniform with „SD“ sleeve badges, SS eagles and „Grenz-Polizei“ cuffbands. The right collar tabs was empty which is characteristic for SD troops.
Photos show many interesting uniform photographs. Also high ranking SD leaders like SS-Standartenführer Dr. Trummler, leader of the school.
Gestapo member Hans Trummler served as a SS leader with the SD-Hauptamt from 1938 and with the RSHA from September 1939. He had commanded one of the Einsatzgruppe z.b.V. of Udo von Woyrsch which attacked the „Sender Gleiwitz“ in Poland. This so-called „Unternehmen Tannenberg“ is known for being the reason of the start of the Poland Campaign and therefore of WW2.
Trummler was awarded the Golden NSDAP Badge and was part of the „Röhm Putsch“. Trummler was sentenced to death in during the Dachau trials. He died on 22.10.1948.
The owner of the album was transferred to a Polizei-Bataillon in October 1940
This photo album is an extremely rare piece of history. In all these years we have never see another one for sale.
