Description
Nice document grouping to SS-Schütze Friedrich Schmidt serving with SS-Gebirgsjäger-Regiment "Skanderbeg" which was part of SS-Division "Prinz Eugen".
 
Soldbuch issued on 11.5.1942 by 1./SS-Geb.Jäg.Rgt.2. Removed photograph. Units listed which proof "Prinz Eugen" connection.
 
He spent some time in the military hospital Arandelovac, Serbia. Awards noted on page 22:
- Infantry Assault Badge in silver
- Wound Badge in black
- War Merit Cross 2nd Class
- Wound Badge in silver
 
Very interesting late war 1944/45 notes. Also one 1946 pencil note.
Condition 3. Taped to the cover.
 
Certificate to the War Merit Cross 2nd Class issued on 30.1.1945. Schmidt served as SS-Jäger with 1./SS-Geb.Jäg.Rgt.14 at that time. Signed by division commander SS-Oberführer August Schmidhuber. Rare explanation to the reverse which confirms he was involved in anti partisan operations since 1942 "und steht seit 1942 im Bandenkampf".
Folded twice.
 
Certificate to the Wound Badge in black. Issued on 14.8.1944. Folded twice.
 
Calling for service document from April 1942 as well as 1936 dated POW related papers.
