Description
Extremely rare untouched tropical Heer uniform grouping to Afrikakorps driver Gefreiter Hans Brehm! Field cap and tunic come with 101% period time applied.

The uniform comes with a handmade cardboard folder containing personal photographs. He added a lot of notes to the folder which are a great source of research. For example he noted, that he was captured in Afrika on 8.5.1943. So the uniform was definitely worn in Afrika!

He was sent from Grafenwöhr to Italy (Palermo) in December 1942 and touched African ground on 4.4.43 (Sidi Tabed near Tunis). He was captured on 8.5.43 near Tunis and s sent to the US in July 1943 in "Camp Forrest", TN, USA. It looks that re was released in December 1945 and sent back to Germany.

I'm sure he had worn his Afrika tunic only at the beginning and received POW clothes after that. He must have shipped his uniform home.

Inside the folder are 56 period time photos. Many show Brehm wearing exactly this uniform with cap offered in this auction.

Well worn Heer tropical field cap. Period time hand-applied machine-woven cap eagle and cockade. Perfectly matching. "Alfred Valet" maker marked and 1942 dated. Size 56 stamped. Zinc cockade. Soutache period time removed.
No damage or rips. You can see PW (prisoner of war) written to the top in orange color. Not much is left due to wear inside the cap.
Good condition 2.

Tropical field tunic. Again with rest of PW letters written in orange color to the back! Original factory applied insignia. Machine-applied collar tabs, hand-applied breast eagle. EM Transport shoulder boards with light blue piping. Maschine-applied rank chevron.

Size stamped and maker marked. Slightly faded and hard to read. The maker read like "Riegle".
Worn condition 2.
Size M.

Extremely rare grouping! Untouched. Never in collector's hands.
