Description
Important Wehrpaß to the ship's pilot Major Hellmut von Rabenau issued in 1934 with a nice photo in Kriegsmarine uniform. He was part of the Kriegsmarine until 1941 and then switched to the Luftwaffe. He was promoted from a Kapitänleutnant zur See to a Luftwaffe Major on 1.11.1942. He served as Gruppenkdr. I./K.G.26.

His Wehrpaß is most probably stamped "Kriegsmarine" underneath the "Luftwaffe" paper tag to the front cover.

He served on the ships Gorch Fock, Emden, Agollo, Schliesien, Nordsee etc.. (see page 18), with Küsten-Flieger-Gruppe 106 before he served with Kampfgeschwader 26 and 102 from 1941. It looks that he was in Swedish captivity from 23.9.39 until 28.8.1940 "in Schweden interniert"?

Awarded the Sports Badge, Luftwaffe Pilot's Badge (1938!), Luftwaffe 4 years Long Service Award, Observer's Badge (1938!), Iron Cross 2nd Class, Finish Liberty Cross 3rd Class, Iron Cross 1st Class, Squadron Clasp in gold, Combined Pilot's and Observer's Badge.

A list of his campaigns from 29.8.1940 until 11.11.1943. He was reported missed in action on 11.11.1943.

A very rare historical document!
