Description
Very rare and interesting Wehrmacht kettledrum banner for the kettledrum of Füs.Rgt.39 based in Düsseldorf.
An fine wartime banner which was designed with two imperial Iron Crosses to commemorate Niederrheinisches Füsilier-Regiment Nr. 39 which was dissolved in 1918. In 1943, Füs.Rgt.39 was re-established. 
 
High quality cloth banner with fine hand-stiched 1914 Iron Crosses, the city crest of Düsseldorf as well as the national eagle and the regimental monogram. National eagle and regimental monogram are high quality hand embroidered with silver wire. White silk backing to the city crest. Iron Crosses with black silk cloth backing.
 
Width of the national eagle: 30cm
Width of the Iron Crosses: 15cm
 
Overall height: 38cm.
Overall length: 215cm.
 
Fine silk bordering surrounded by silver cords. Silver fringe all around the bottom. 
Fieldgrey cotton cloth backing to the reverse of the banner. Original white cords to attached to the top of the banner. One set looks to be missing. There is usually a belt going through all top loops to fasten the banner to the kettledrum which is hover ever missing as well.
 
Signs of use and minor moth damage.
