Important photo grouping to German Cross in gold recipient Hauptmann Walter Wohnhas. Awarded the German Cross on 4.9.1944 serving with Pio.Batl.212 which was part of the 212.Infanterie-Division.
Six personal photo albums as well as Feldpost letters and his personal war diary. Furthermore five May 1945 dated (!) portrait photos of Wohnhas wedding portraits. All of them shows Wohnhas with his German Cross in gold, his Close Combat Clasp in bronze and all other awards.
His folder with his war diary is "Divisionsgeschichte" titled. "Tagebuch der 212.Division. Eigene Aufzeichnungen über die Zeit 39 bis 45. Briefwechsel lt.Kunz mit Wilhelm Wohnhas im Hinblick auf meine Hochzeit."
Wohnhas must have planed to make a division chronicle of his notes from the time of 1939 - 1945.
The second folder comes with of Walter Wohnhas Feldposter letters of the year 1942 which must have been collected by the family like this.
One album titled "DJ 1-11, HJ 32-34 Jungvolk".
This album contains a very rare photograph of Ley, Goebbels and Schwarz. Goebbels wears sun glasses. There is also a photo of Adolf Hitler standing in his car. Many photos are missing to this album.
A very nice Gebirgs-Pionier-Btl.54 photo album with stunning early photos inside. A nice historic album of that unit.+
A photo album starting on 1.9.1939. Mainly France campaign.
One horrible photo shows Unteroffizier Dornbacher who was badly injured by a booby trap inside a house in the city of Ilm. A document by Wohnhas describes the attack.
At the end of the album is a drawing of Wohnhas dated "Russia 1942".
Large size album titled "Kriegsjahr in Russland 1941-44".
Interesting Russian winter war photos. A few show Wohnhas personal bunker. There is a large size "Luftbild" inside as well.
There are roughly 680 photos in total. Exciting photos of Kronstadt, St.Petersburg/Leningrad (!), Peterhof, "Kessel Oranienbaum", Wolchow, Estonia, Latvia etc....
