Rare grouping to Generalmajor Erich Bärenfänger. Bärenfänger was promoted a Generalmajor only 30 years of age and awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaf and Swords on 23.1.1944.
Bärenfänger commanded "Verteidigungsbereich A" in Berlin in April 1945 and committed suicide on 1.5.1945.
Original certificate to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross issued on 18.8.1942. Bärenfänger served as a Oberleutnant with III./Infanterie-Regiment 123
"Oberkommando des Heeres - Heeres-Personalamt" stamped. Original ink signature of Generalleutnant Victor von Drabich-Waechter which is really hard to find on a Knight's Cross certificate.
Folded three times and sticked on a period time paper.
