Description
Personal service uniform of Feldwebel Hans Sabatier. The tunic is shown on many photo inside his photo albums as well as on the large size portrait photo part of this lot.
 
Hans Sabatier served with III. Seenot-Gruppe der Luftwaffe u. Seenotdienstführer Mittelmeer as a Bordfunker (radio operator). His unit, which was 6. Seenotstafel based in Syrakus, Sicilia, has rescued over 500 pilot's and flight crew members. Sabatier was shot down on 1.11.1943 in Italy. Sabatier was highly decorated: 1939 Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, Radio Operator Badge, Squadron Clasp for Aufklärer in bronze, silver and gold, 1938 Kreissieger Badge, Sudetenland Medal, Sports Badge.
 
His grouping was purchased by a local collector by the family. The first owner of the grouping is our consignor. The grouping was never available on the market.
 
Portrait photo with original frame. Framed back with period time newspaper. 100% never opened.
Size: 58cm x 76cm. The photo 100% the tunic being offered here. Note, that boards and tabs are retouched on the photo sine the photo was taken at an earlier time when he was still an Obergefreiter. The tunic has received new insignia after promotion. However. you can identify the tunic on many other details. Also, eee portrait photos inside his photo album (Sabatier standing with Borddolch). Again, he wears exactly this tunic. Compare details of collar tabs and the small boards!
 
Privately purchased 4-pocket service tunic with 100% original applied insignia. Collar tabs and NCO tress attached by machine. Unique hand-stiched breast eagle with silver and golden wings and a red muzzle attached by hand. Small Feldwebel shoulder boards with a very wide characteristic tress which can be clearly indentified on photos inside his photo album. Black silk lining. No name or tailor's tag.
 
No moth damage. Very nice condition 2. Size M.
One of only a very few tunics available which are proven by a period time photograph. Very rare!
