Photo album and award document grouping to Feldwebel Sabatier.
Hans Sabatier served with III. Seenot-Gruppe der Luftwaffe u. Seenotdienstführer Mittelmeer as a Bordfunker (radio operator). His unit, which was 6. Seenotstafel based in Syrakus, Sicilia, has rescued over 500 pilots and flight crew member. No. 500 was Knight's Cross and later Oak Leaves Oberstleutnant Gerhard Michalski (Staffelkapitän 4./JG 53) recipient as proven by a photo inside his photo album. Sabatier was shot down on 1.11.1943 in Italy. Sabatier was highly decorated: 1939 Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class, Radio Operator Badge, Squadron Clasp for Aufklärer in bronze, silver and gold, 1938 Kreissieger Badge, Sudetenland Medal, Sports Badge.
His grouping was purchased by a local collector by the family. The first owner of the grouping is our consignor. The grouping was never available on the market.
The album contains all award certificates which were accurately added to the album. All certificate can be taken out and are not glued in. The grouping is complete. No certificate missing.
The album contains 94 original photographs. Many show Sabatier. There are great pictures showing aircrafts. The album is a unique document of service of 5. Seenotstafel and can be considered as extremely rare. The album starts with pictures taken in Italy during active service. To the end, there are earlier photos documenting his service time with Marine-HJ and the Kriegsmarine.

- Certificate to the Sports Badge in bronze. 1943 issued document for the 1939 awarded badge. Folded. Award booklet with original attached photo.
- Certificate to the 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class. Issued on 3.5.1941. "General der Luftwaffe beim Oberbefehlshaber der Kriegsmarine" stamped. Signed by a Generalleutnant. Folded once. Very nice condition.
- Certificate to the Squadron Clasp for Aufklärer in bronze. Issued on 9.6.1941 and signed by "Kommandeur III. Seenotgruppe". Not folded. Very nice condition.
- Certificate to the 1939 Iron Cross 1st Class. Issued on 21.8.1941 and "Generalkommando des X. Fliegerkorps" stamped. Signed by Generalmajor Fröhlich. Not folded. Excellent.
- Certificate to the Squadron Clasp for Aufklärer in silver. Issued on 20.3.1942 and signed by "Major u. Gruppenkommandeur" Engelhorn. Feldpostnummer 08780 stamped = Stab / III. Seenot-Gruppe der Luftwaffe u. Seenotdienstführer Mittelmeer. Not folded. Excellent.
- Certificate to the Squadron Clasp for Aufklärer in gold. Issued on 27.1.1943 and signed by "Oberstleutnant und Seenotdienstführer" Engelhorn. Feldpostnummer 08780 stamped = Stab / III. Seenot-Gruppe der Luftwaffe u. Seenotdienstführer Mittelmeer. Folded once. Very nice condition.
- Certificate to the Air Gunner Badge. Issued on 14.10.1940. Folded once. Very nice condition.
- Certificate to the Sudetenland Medal. Issued on 17.1.1940 to Sabatier as a RAD man. Folded. Very nice.

- statement confirming that Sabatier was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class. Squadron Clasp in gold and Air Gunner Badge. It states that Sabatier is allowed to privately purchase these medals. There are two examples on this document inside the album.
- Kriegsurlauberschein providing information on this service time. March 1943.
- Kleiner Wehrmachtfahrschein confirming he travel to Syrakus, Sicilia.
