Description
Heer 1st pattern visor cap for an officer serving with Infanterie-Regiment 17. Members of that regiment had worn the so-called "Braunschweiger" skull on their visor caps as a traditional badge. A very rare so-called "crusher cap" with leather visor.

WILHELM WELHAUSEN maker marked to the grey sweat-band and the intact celluloid diamond. Silk lining with sweat-stains.
Original attached aluminum cap eagle and hand-stiched wreath badge.  The fine tombak skull badge is nicely attached between eagle and wreath and the bones are accurately around above the top of the wreath. It really is absolutely matching.

Minor mothing. Good condition 2.
Nice shape.
