Description
Very interesting Heer field tunic for an Oberleutnant serving with Infanterie-Regiment 42. A wartime field tunic tailored from Italian cloth. Probably around 1943/44. It was tailored like an early M36 tunic with dark green collar for fashion reason.

The tunic comes with a grey cotton lining and very unusual stamps. There are two pair of loops of the breast pocket as well as one hole to attached a screw-back Iron Cross 1st Class. A ribbon for the Iron Cross 2nd Class attached to one button hole. Infanterie insignia. Oberleutnant shoulder boards to sew in with "42" cyphers. Matching collar tabs. Hand-stiched officer's breast eagle attached by machine through the lining.
The insignia seem to have been re-attached at some time. You can see previous seams to the collar tabs and also where the beast eagle is. The original eagle was also attached through the liner which did happen a lot at the end of the war.

Overall condition: very good!
No damage.
