Third Reich, gorget (ie. 'Ringkragen') as was intended for a member within the: 'Nationalsozialistischer Kriegsopferversorsung' (ie. 'N.S.K.O.V.'). The piece comprises of an aluminum-based shield upon which a bright-golden-toned 'flags-and-oakleaves'-symbol is mounted. In its centre it shows an enameled and bright-red-coloured so-called: 'N.S.K.O.V.'-shield. The gorget is 'backed' with black-coloured wool and shows the maker-designation '1' (as is visible on the chain attachment-hook). The piece comes mounted on its period, bright-golden toned chain. The gorget has only been minimally used and retains a wonderful age-patina without showing any defaults.
