Description
Kriegsmarine visor cap to Stabsbootsmann Johann Dietrich (born in 1893). Dietrich served with the Imperial Navy during WW1, worked as a postman between the wars and had served again during WW2 with the Kriegsmarine. Dietrich was awarded the 1939 Iron Cross 1st, the 1939 Clasp to the Iron Cross 2nd Class, the Minesweeper War Badge as well as many other awards. Please see next lot for his photo and document grouping.

Kriegsmarine EM/NCO visor cap. Removable dark blue top. Hand-embroidered cap eagle and wreath. Blue silk liner. Very soft leather sweat-band. Minor signs of wear. Good condition 2. Size 56. This cap must be his second cap. The photos (see next lot) show slightly different cap. The cap being offered here could have been his walking out cap which was not worn a lot.
