Description
Personal Heer General's visor cap to Generalleutnant Helmut Lieb, nicknamed "the lion of Tscherkassy". 

Theo-Helmut Theobald Lieb (1889 - 1981) served as commender of 112. Infanterie-Division inside the Tscherkassy pocket in February 1944. He was awarded the 400th Oak Leaves to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross rescueing his troops out of the pocket and joining parts of 1.Panzer-Armee. Award date: 18.2.1944. Lieb surrendered as commander of 34. Infanterie-Division on 8.5.1945 and was released as a US POW in 1947.
 
High quality Heer General's visor cap made by Tiller AG, Vienna. Hand-embroidered General's insignia attached by hand. Gold color General's chin strap and aluminum wire piping. 
Slik lining with intect celluloid diamond feature a maker's mark. Hand-written "Helmut Lieb" paper name tag.
Insignia attached by hand trough the lining. Damaged sweat-band. Minor moth holes.

Personal documents mostly to his daughter Helga Lieb. One hand-written letter of Lieb to his daughter with official "112. Infanterie-Division - Kommandeur" letter head. Another hand-written letter to her sent as a POW.
