Description
Fantastic wartime field tunic to commander of Infanterie-Regiment 37, Oberstleutnant Benteler.

The tunic was tailored by Hegeler, Oldenburg and given to Benteler on 25.3.1943 as a Leutnant. The original attached name tag shows "Ltn.Benteler" written on it. The tunic was then worn throughout several promotions. While only rank pips were added when he became an Oberleutnant and a Hauptmann,  the shoulder boards were changed when he became a Major. Another set of rank pips were added when he finally was promoted an Oberstleutnant. When the promotion happened, we don't know but as an Oberstleutnant.

Originally attached collar tabs. Attached by machine. Fine embroidered breast eagle period time attached by hand.
All buttons show full color and are orignal attached as well. The tunic was clearly worn but probably not in the field due to its stunning condition.
Silk lining with a tailor's tag attached. One pair of loops attached to the breast pocket for one award. An extra white protection collar was added.

Minor moth holes underneath the color only. No other damage.
