Description

Late war document grouping to Franz Xaver Pröls serving 6./Gebirgsjäger Regiment 99. A highly decorated Close Combat Clasp in bronze and Edelweiss ring of the 1.Gebirgs-Division winner. Pröls had 28 confirmed days of close combat. 

Wound Badge in black. "117" (Hugo Lang) maker marked.

1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class on original ribbon. Three-part construction. Iron core. Orginal black color. Unmarked.

Infantry Assault Badge in silver. Zinc. Unmarked.

Close Combat Clasp in bronze. Zinc. "FLL" Friedrich Linden Lüdenscheid maker marked. Magnetic back plate.

Gebirgsjäger Edelweiss ring. "800" silver hallmark. Diameter inside: 18.65 mm. The Edelweiss ring was actually awarded to soldiers serving with 1. Gebirgs-Division for special achievement.

Aluminium dog tag. Number "280". Matching with the Soldbuch. Original cord in place.

Soldbuch issued on 1. September 1944. Original applied photography. Awards: Infantry Assault Badge in silver, 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class, Close Combat Clasp in bronze, Edelweiss ring and Wound Badge in black. Noted on page 22. Close combat days report from 16.1.1943 until 4.8.1944 with 28 confirmed combat days. Listed on the last page. Book with two holes.

Furthermore roughly 39 photos of his military service. The photo documents mainly the military training.

A nice and rare grouping. Good condition.
