Important document grouping to Oberleutnant Fritz-Konrad Apel, born on 20.6.1920.
Apel served as radio gunner of nightfighter ace Hauptmann Heinz Strüning. Strüning was awarded the Knight's Cross with Oak leaves. He was credited with 56 victories in 280 missions, of which 250 missions were flown at night. All his victories were recorded at night.
