A unique Kriegsmarine field bayonet with frog. The bayonet was period time nickel finished to the blade and the metal parts of the handle. We are not aware if this was done in the factory or by the order of the owner but it was certainly period time.
The leather frog is "M" (Kriegsmarine) stamped. It is furthermore maker marked however this stamp is hard to read. (Franz ....)
The blade is HERDER maker marked. The handle comes with a wooden grip.
The Kriegsmarine sailor would have used this field bayonet as his dress bayonet and wanted it to look a bit more elegant.
