Very early SS Service Dagger made by Böker, Solingen. "31758" numbered to the upper fitting which looks to be the SS number of the owner. "I" marked to the lower cross guard.
Wooden grip with large chips, however, the enameled SS emblem looks to be without damage.
Maker marked blade with etched SS motto "Meine Ehre heisst Treue". Signs of age and stains as well as pitting.
Scabbard with light dents. One screw replaced. Matching early fitting. Period time repainted with black paint. Usually, this type of early dagger should have a bronzed scabbard. Damaged to the bottom fitting.
Condition 3.
Please note that this dagger was possibly an "Ex-Röhm" dagger with removed dedication "In herzlicher Kameradschaft - Ernst Röhm". The Böker emblem is very close to the cross guard to provide room for the dedication. Also, the blade looks to be perfectly ground to take the dedication off.
