Soldbuch of Knight's Cross recipient Major Walter Knöspel, born on 29.1.1943. He was awarded the Knight's Cross on 17.1.1942. Part of the grouping is a photocopy of the story told by Generalleutnant Heinrici as commander of 16. Infanterie-Division explaining how he had won the Knight's Cross. The document also shows a picture of Knöspel. Furthermore, there is a copy of the original file for Knight's Cross recipients listing more details.
A second issue Soldbuch which never came with a photograph. Issued on 11.2.1942 by Infanterie-Regiment 156. Units listed on page 4: II./Inf.Rgt.156, Kriegsakademie, 363. Infanterie-Division, Generalkommando XXXIX Pz.Korps. Original "Dienststellenausweis" issued by 1. Marine-Infanterie-Division. It dates 20.4.1945 and confirms that Knöpsel was allowed to use a car run by petrol as "1. Generalstabsoffizier" of the division.
