A rare photo grouping of Generalleutnant Theodor Scherer serving as commander of the "Festung Cholm" Fortress Kholm with 281. Sicherungs-Division. Before serving on the Eastern Front, he was commander in the "Führerhauptquartier" from 4.3.1941 to 25.9.1941. Furthermore involved in anti-partisan combat in Russia.
