Description

Comprehensive document and photo grouping to the WW1 veteran Andreas Bauer who was part of the battles of Lothringen, the attack of Fort Camp-des-Romains, the battles near Chauvoncourt and in the Ailly woods. Several photos were taken in St. Mihiel near Verdun. He was wounded several times.

Bauer served from 1883 until 1929. First, as an active soldier with 19. Reserve-Infanterie Regiment were he was promoted a Feldwebel on in 1891, later as a "Garnison-Verwaltungs-Inspektur" in Grafenwöhr and several other places after WW1. He finished service as an Obersteuerinpektor in 1929.

He was awarded the Bavarian Military Merit Cross 1st Class with swords, the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class and several Long Service Awards. 

Part of the grouping are two important lists telling you all important details on his service time, awards, promotions, batlles, etc..

Part of the grouping are not only documents to Andreas Bauer right up to 1944, but also a few documents to his wife including her Mother's Cross in bronze citation. Andreas and Helene Bauer had four children.
