Exciting Luftwaffe Soldbuch as well as one portrait of Fallschirmjäger Gefreiter Herbert Mertig. The book was issued on 8.2.1944.

Denazified cover. All other pages are fine. The Soldbuch comes with an original attached photo. Based on the portrait photo part of the grouping we know he had "G" and "L" on the collar however these two letters were overpainted on this small size photo. He must have done that after becoming a Fallschirmjäger.
A very interesting portrait photo. 9cm + 13cm. Very scarce.
