Description

5-place medal bar to Walter Hübner. Please note that his Knight's Cross of the House Order of Hohenzollern is missing on the bar but part of this grouping separately.

1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class, Honor Cross of WW1, 1936 Olympic Games Decoration 2nd Class and Luftwaffe Long Service Award for 4 years. The Prussian House Order of Hohenzollern is missing. A worn medal bar.

Knight's Cross of the House Order of Hohenzollern with original ribbon. Nicely enameld. Good condition with minor signs of use.

Walter Hübner served with the Imperial "Fliegertruppe" in WW1. Later in the Third Reich he also served with the Luftwaffe and the DLV. After his military service and the end of the war, he worked for the PFL (Propulsion Field Laboratory) as an aeronautical engineer. The facility tested rocket engines for the US space program from 1949 to 2006, including the F-1 engine used on the "Apollo" program.
