Description
Personal tunic to Professor Theodor Sabalitschka in the rank of an Oberleutnant. Sabalitschka served with an Aufklärung unit.

WW1 veteran Sabalitschka and was called for service again in 1939. Born in 1889, the same year Adolf Hitler was born, he would have not seen combat with the age of over 51 years. The ribbon to the War Merit Cross matches his story. The 8 place ribbon bar containing Bavarian WW1 awards also makes sense. Part of the bar is also a ribbon for the Westwall Medal.

Very fine privately purchased 4 pocket service tunic with almost no signs of wear. "Herrenmoden - Uniformen Wilh. Schwarte" tailor's tag. June 1940 dated. Issued to "Prof. Sabalitschka".
Yellow piped shoulder boards with original brass "GD" cyphers as well as matching collar tabs. The lining around the shoulders were never opened which means the boards are original attached. I believe the "GD" cyphers were attached at a later time. The collar tabs are also definitely original attached by machine. The embroidered officer's breast eagle was attached by hand. Also period time to me.

Original "Großdeutschland" hand-stiched officer's cuffband. We can not proof when this was attached. It is likely that "GD" cyphers and cuffband are postwar attached.

A very nice condition in condition 1. Size M.
