Description
Imperial naval officer's dagger with hangers and belt to Oberleutnant zur See Herbert Pustkuchen.
 
Oberleutnant zur See Herbert Pustkuchen (crew 4/08) was one of the most successful U-Boot commanders of WW1. He was to be awarded with the Pour-le-Merit but did not return from the Feindfahrt.
84 ships sunk with a total of 107.520 tons and 13 ships damaged from 1915 until 1917. Pustkuchen had three commands: UC-5, UB-29 and UC-66. Postkuchen was sunk with UC-66 on 27.5.1917 off the Isles of Scilly.
 
Very rare officer's dagger with damascus blade presented to Pustkuchen by his comrade Lt. Ferdinand Pfeffer von Salomon. The blade is "Pustkuchen s/l. Pfeffer v. Salomon." etched. 
 
"J.ROBRECHT HOFL.BERLIN"maker marked to both sides of the blade. Light rust pits. "4695" numbered.
Rare ivory handle. Typical stress hair cracks which is absolutely alright. A very small chip to the white handle towards the crown pommel. nice hammered and ornamented scabbard. Original gilding. One small dent.
 
Matching patina allover. Good condition 2.
 
Hangers and belt with matching patina. Hangers with fine original gilding to the metal brats. Signs of wear to the straps. No damage. Nice condition 2.
Fine imperial Kaiserliche Marine belt & buckle with dark blue velvet backing. DRGM marked to the back to he loops with lion's head. Nice original gilding to all metal parts. Length: 105cm. One rip to the velvet backing. Nice condition 2.
