Description
German Eagle Order 1st Class with swords by Godet, Berlin, in its case of issue with award document. Awarded to the officer "Leutnant Don Fernando Sotelo Losada". It was taken as a souvenir by an US GI in 1945.
Very fine high quality award. Enameled. "900" silver stamped to the small ring. Silver, gilt. "21" maker marked.
Minor patina. No chips or repairs. A very small manufacturing error in the enamel of the front side.
Very nice condition 2+. On full size ribbon.
Textbook case of issue. Black velvet inlay. "Verdienstkreuz I. Stufe des Ordens vom Deutschen Adler mit Schwertern" (this title was used from 1937-1939) printed to the silk lining. Red outside leather. Attached engraved silver plate "SOUVENIR OF MUNSTER 1945 RECONNAISSANCE CORPS".
Sunken gilt national eagle printed to the top. Gold lines. Opening and closing correctly.
Size: 14cm + 18cm.
Award document issued on 5.6.1939. Facsimile signature of Adolf Hitler and Staatsminister Meissner. Embossed national eagle with wreath to the bottom. Unfolded. In original award document folder showing a gold printed national eagle to the front side. Very nice condition. Including a photo which is supposed to show Leutnant Sotelo Losada as well as a blanko confirmation form.
