August 1939 issued Soldbuch to Hauptfeldwebel Morgen with original applied photograph. Serving with Panzer-Jagd-Abteilung 1551 as well as "Kampfgruppe Knebel".

Awarded the Iron Cross 1st and 2nd Class in September and October 1944, the East Medal the War Merit Cross with swords, the Wound Badge in black and the Infantry Assault Badge in silver.
