Description
Important photo album to SS-Obersturmführer Hubbes. The album was set up by Hubbes in a postwar folders and contains around 145 original WWII period time photos as well as postwar veteran's photos of Hubbes and his comrades.
 
Hubbes has nicely subtitled many photos which provides additional information on his time in WWII.
 
SS-Untersturmführer Hubbes who was awarded the Close Combat Clasp in silver. He served with 4. and 5. Aufklärungs-Abteilung Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler and with 12./SS-Panzer-Division "Hitlerjugend" during the Normandy battles (D-Day). Hubbes ended up serving with 8./SS-Panzergrenadier-Regiment 25 ("Hitlerjugend") in late 1944 and was part of the battles of the Ardennes. He survived the war. Please see other items to Hubbes.
 
Next to stunning photos of Hubbes wearing there are original photos of "Panzermeyer" (Kurt Meyer), of an unknown Waffen-SS German Cross in gold recipient next to an unknown Heer Knight's Cross recipient as well as important studio portrait photos.
 
There are 8 photographs inside the album which come with the original negatives. It shows Hubbes on the day of his engagement in 1944 wearing his Close Combat Clasp in silver. 
 
The album includes extremely rare photographs taken in late 1944 during the battle of Ardennes. See subtitle: "Winteroffensive ... 17. Dez 1944" for example
 
There are also a couple of scarce photos taken during the Normandy battles in June 1944. One shows a grenade launcher crew and is "Juni 44 vor Caen ...." subtitled. See other photos with a similar "Juni 44" subtitle.
 
To the end, there are postwar photos of Hubbes meeting up with SS veterans. 
 
An album of historical importance. It brings the all other items related to Hubbes to life.
