Description
SS (ie. 'SS-Verfügungstruppen') officers'-pattern, M37-model field-tunic ('Feldbluse M37') as was executed in greyish-coloured HBT-material (ie. 'Drillich') and that was worn by a: 'SS-Sturmbannführer' (ie. major) who served within the: 'Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler'. The tunic comes in an overall very nice (albeit minimally used- ie. worn-), condition. It shows a silver-coloured- and machine- (ie. 'BeVo-flat-wire-) woven, officers'-pattern arm-eagle period-attached (attached by means of 'zig-zag'-stitching by a machine).

The tunic has no separate lining and bears a clearly present makers'-ink-stamp that reads: 'Buchberger & Kremer' and shows clear size-stamps (of additional interest is, moreover, that the tunic bears several larger-sized ink-stamps that read: '205'). The tunic retains all its (pebbled-styled- and zinc-based-) buttons (of which a few might have been period-replaced). The tunic - which shows an 'added' darker-green-coloured- and woolen collar - comes with a functional 'waist-adjustment'-system in place and shows the typical 'pleaded' upper-pockets and 'hidden' under-pockets (as were specific for this M37-model field-tunic). It misses, however, the shoulder-straps but has a neat (hand-embroidered- and 'RzM'-type) collar-tab-pair attached. Moreover, does it show an officers'-pattern, hand-embroidered, so-called: 'Rzm'-type cuff-title (ie. 'Ärmelstreifen') entitled: "Adolf Hitler" attached (which is attached by hand).

The tunic shows furthermore a so-called: 'Alter Kämpfer'-arm-winkel and ribbon for a (WWI-period) iron cross 2nd class ('EK II. Klasse'), attached. All insignia-pieces seem original to the tunic and were (apart from the arm-eagle) attached by hand. The tunic shows the 3-hole-attachment set-up (present for the belt-hook attachment) and shows some minimal wear, age and/or staining (but is void of any damage or alike). The tunic has an approximate waist of 92 cms. and will fit a medium-sized mannequin. Simply an early-period SS-VT officers'-pattern tunic of great rarity!
