Description
Waffen-SS, enlisted-mens'- (ie. NCO-) pattern visor-cap (ie. 'Schirmmütze'). The cap is produced from field-grey-coloured 'garbadine'-like, linnen-based material and has a 'standard-pattern'-, black-coloured visor in place. The cap has the (white-coloured-) woolen-type piping attached (which shows some age- and wear). The cap shows a 'smooth-styled'- and linnen-based cap-band attached and has a black-coloured and linnen-based interior (that misses its 'Raute'). The brownish-coloured and artificial leather-based sweat-band is also present and in place: this, however, shows some age, wear and/or staining (and that does show some minimal tears and that comes a bit loose in certain places). The cap has a greyish-silver-coloured- and zinc-based skull-device period-attached. One prong missing. next to this it shows a 'standard-pattern'- and linen-based eagle-device attached. This eagle is produced in so-called: 'BeVo-weave pattern and is (period) attached by hand. The cap - which is a fair size and measures approximately 56/57 cms. - shows overall wear age and/or staining but has retained a nice shape overall. The piece never had any cap-band (ie. 'Sturmriemen') attached: this was probably done in order to make it resemble an old-style visor-cap (ie. 'Knautsch- o. Alter Art'-type) cap.
