Description
Waffen-SS, officers'-pattern, 'old-style' visor-cap (ie. 'Knautsch- o. Alter Art Schirmmütze'). The cap is produced from fine-structured-, field-grey-coloured 'garbadine'-like- and linnen-based material and has a leather-based, pliable visor (which comes in great shape and that is still souple and pliable). The cap has the (white-coloured-) woolen-type piping attached (which shows some age- and wear). It shows a 'smooth-styled'- and velvet-based cap-band attached and has greyish-coloured and linnen-based interior (that still retains its typical-shaped- and/or: 'Mica'-based 'Raute' inserted which is undamaged). The brownish-coloured and leather-based sweat-band is also present and in place: this, however, shows some age, wear and/or staining (and that does show some tears). The cap has a silver-coloured- and 'Buntmetall'-based eagle- and/or skull-device (period-) attached: both insignia-pieces are matching in execution and age and retain their prongs. The cap - which is a fair size and measures approximately 56/57 cms. - shows overall wear age and/or staining but has retained a nice shape: simply a very rarely seen piece of SS-officers'-related head-gear!
