Wehrmacht, engineers'-saw (ie. 'Pioniersäge') that comes complete with its black-coloured- and 'Ersatz'-leather-based cover. The saw itself is unmarked whereas its cover is clearly maker-marked and dated and bears an impressed stamp that reads: 'GYJ 1942'. The wooden handles on the saw are undamaged: something that is not always the case. The black-coloured- and 'Ersatz'-leather- (ie. 'Pressstoff'-) based cover comes complete with all its period flaps and rivets in place (the flap present to hold the bayonet comes a bit loose). The piece shows some moderate wear and age but was never cleaned and comes as found.
