An untouched "been there" Wehrmacht officers visor cap which was clearly worn in the field. Classic saddle shape. Light-blue piping for Transport branch!
This came came straight off a household clearance in October 2014 and was not part of a collection before. 100% period time attached matching pair of tombak insignia. All prongs in place. The cockade is a rare "Frischluft" pattern with ventilation holes. The cap was made by EREL and comes with a maker mark to the golden silk liner. EREL SONDERKLASSE PRIMA. The sweat-band is marked, too.
There is no moth damage to this cap. Three tiny holes if you look closely which could also be due to some serious wear.
