Untouched important family grouping to Ernst Schlapp who served as an electrician on board of "Hindenburg" Zeppelin LZ 129. Schlapp was killed on 6.5.1937 when the Hindenburg exploded during the landing in Lakehurst, NJ, USA. 35 of 97 people were killed.

Part of the grouping is an comprehensive amount of letters of condolence from allover the world. Schlapp was serving on other Zeppelins (e.g. Graf Zeppelin) before since there are plenty of postcards he sent from his journeys part of his grouping. There is also a personal 1936 pocket calendar with personal notes of Schlapp. See a note on Graf Zeppelin: "Bis zum 23.12.35 an LZ 129 Kabel eingezogen und best(igt). Dann an Graf Zeppelin (...) That proofs that Schlapp was also involved in actually building the Hindenburg LZ 129. This book is full of Zeppelin related notes which are notes of historical importance!

Part of the grouping is his 1936 issued passport which he would have needed for his journey to the US.
There is orginal Zeppelin letter paper, service instructions of "Deutsche Zeppelin-Reederei" as well as a lot of Zeppelin related original documents.
Many postcards are also Zeppelin related. Original newspaper article on the Zeppelin crash with a large size photo of Schlapp as well as of the transfer of his body to Frankfurt.

A comprehensive grouping which a lot of room for additional research. Available for the first time on the market. The grouping was found at a household clearance of the families estate in 2018.
