Description
Out of the woodwork! This tunic was never available on the market!

A true textbook Gebirgsjäger field tunic which was never in collector's hands! It was found with two other tunics and one vest inside a cardboard box hiding in an old house.

An M40 field tunic with dark green "M36 style" collar which comes with buttons underneath the collar and a closing flap which was only issued to Gebirgsjäger like this.
All insignia are 100% period time attached. Gebirgsjäger sleeve badge, breast eagle and collar tabs attached by hand. Not very accurately but period time. Probably by the officer himself. He also attached his collar with a few stiches so it can not fold up anymore to guarantee an accurate look.
Shoulder boards missing. Not the small size loops for officer boards!

Original attached Iron Cross ribbon to the button hole. Three pair of loops (one loop missing) for three awards such as an Iron Cross 1st Class, a General Assault Badge and a Wound Badge.

Nice details such as small pieces of fabric attached to the belt hook holes to support them.

Full original buttons in place. Typical cotton lining with an M40 stamp, size markings and a maker's mark.

No moth damage but signs of wear and patina.
Condition 2.

Medium size.

A stunning untouched tunic to a Gebirgsjäger officer! One of three tunics found in one cardboard box.
Please see last picture for how this grouping was found.
