Description

Untouched grouping to Hauptwachtmeister Johann Meyer consisting of his personal parade tunic, photos and documents. His parade tunic is shown on two original portrait photos part of this grouping. It is exactly the same tunic as you can see on many details. Period time tunics with photo proofs are extremely rare to find.

Textbook Heer parade tunic for an Oberwachtmeister serving as a "Spieß" as indicated by the rings from tress to both sleeves. The tunic is not a privately purchased example but a quite rare depot issued example which comes with the typical red ink "gesprüft" stamp. The stamp mentions the regiment which is "3./A.R.22". Please note that this perfectly matches his documents.

Period time applied insignia! The collar tabs were attached by machine, the early 1935/36 grey machine-woven NCO officer's type breast eagle was attached by hand.
All buttons are original attached. Typical silk lining. Red piped "Oberfeldwebel" shoulder boards with "22" cyphers from aluminum. The boards had machine-stiched numbers once (see portrait photograph) which were removed later.
Signs of wear and age, however, no damage or moth holes. Good condition 2.
Medium size.

3-place "Iron Cross 2nd Class" ribbon bar.
Personal Soldbuch with an originally applied photograph. Issued on 18.8.1939 by 3.Batterie / Artillerie-Regiment 22. The Soldbuch comes with one hole but generally is in good condition providing a lot of interesting notes and records. Awards on page 22: Iron Cross 2nd Class, East Medal. Wound Badge in black, War Merit Cross 2nd Class with swords. Promoted an Hauptwachtmeister on 1.9.1942. Serving with Artillerie-Regiment z.b.V 785 later in the war.

Two period time framed portrait photographs of Meyer wearing exactly this tunic which is part of this grouping. Please see close-ups for details to compare. He started wearing the tunic as a young Kanonier and kept on wearing it until at least 1941 when promoted an Oberwachtmeister.
Size of the frames: 32cm x 43cm and 31cm x 43cm.

A stunning grouping!
