Description

The lot consists of:

- cased Commemorative plaque of the Crimean War: "FOR THE GLORY OF THE ALLIED ARMIES".  Made of bronze. The front showing Napoleon III and Victoria. The reverse showing a vast assembly of Ottoman military trophies before the dome of a mosque. Diameter: 71mm. Weight: 207.56gr. Good condition 2.

- cased Commemorative plaque of the Crimean War. "CAPTURE OF SEVASTOPOL IN 1855". Made of bronze: The front showing Napoleon III. The reverse is showing a winged Victory with the Napoleonic Banner on the ruins of a fortification. By her feet, there are a cannon and a Russian Helmet. In the background, the City of Sevastopol. Lettered: NON-HAEC SINE NUMINE DIVUM EVENIUNT (such an event cannot occur without God’s Will),  PRISE DE SEBASTOPOL. VIII ET IX SEPTEMBRE. MDCCCLV (Taken of Sevastopol on September 8th & 9th,1855). Diameter: 75mm. Weight: 245.9gr. Good condition 2. 

The pin to lock the case to the front is missing (broken off).
