1943/44 impressive oil of a "Panzerschlacht" tank battle (Otto Bloss)

Description

An impressive oil of a WWII "Panzerschlacht" tank battle. Around 1943/1944. Painted on canvas. "Bloss Eisfeld P.K." artist signature. The painting shows a Russian T-35 tank. In front of it two Wehrmacht anti-tank soldiers. In 1943 and 1944 the unit PK 666 of the artist was involved in the battles in the Caucasus, Kuban, and Crimea. "N 124" written by hand to the reverse.

Wooden frame. Size: 110x85 cm.

The artist Otto Bloss (1898-1963) served with Propagandakompanie PK 666 as an Oberleutnant. From 1938 until 1944, he exhibited a total of 17 of his works in the art exhibition "Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung" in the House of Art in Munich. This was the most important art exhibition during the Third Reich.
