Description
Dark blue officers visor cap of U-Boot officer Dr.med.Friedrich Hauck. Hauck served as a doctor on U-105. This boat did 10 sailings. We have originally purchased this grouping a few years and sold it through butschek antiques. It was not part of any collection at this time and was now consigned by our customer.

Haucks visor cap is in well worn condition. The black vulcanfibre visor got a navy blue wool top covering to the top edge. The single row of hand embroidered, oak-leaves in gilt wire threads got the typical rust-red aging caused by the salt-water. Exactly the same patina can be seen on the hand embroidered wreath. The cap eagle is still pretty gold which means that a different material has been used. The swastika has been removed. The black wool top can be taken off. The blue silk liner is in used condition. The seam has opened at two areas a few centimeters. It can be easily repaired if you want so. The leather sweat-band shows a small period time repair. This cap could have been worn by a Korvettenkapitäne up to Kapitäne zur See.

All over a very nice and untouched officers visor cap to a U-Boot sailor which could tell some story. Good condition and nice shape!

Rare cap with provenience! Size: 58.
